STARTERS: Prez Rick Koenig opened the 3,887 th HB Kiwanis meeting.  We all sang God Bless America, Bruce led the pledge and Earl gave the blessing.

GUESTS: Sergeant-at-Arms Greg presented Jeri Reed, Cherie Brown, Pat Love, Maggie Moir, Mike Miller, Keith Watts, Brandon Rubasky, Joel Geffen, Maria Mokay , Renaldo Rameriz, Mike Couchois and three Builders Club Members.

BIRTHDAYS/ANNIVERSARIES: We sang for Pat Love a guest

 

DRINK DISPENSER/FINK/OTHER FINES:

Witt got Jane, Cary and Maggy. Rick H., The Fink, got Greg W, Larry, Joanne, Dr. Barr, Harry and Bud. Rick was praised for his outstanding finkiness.

·         11/16 Holiday Fashion Show at Sangria

·         11/17 - DCM at Lomita - We are Hosts! - Please bring items appropriate for raffle prizes.  Also, clothes and blankets for the homeless are being collected by the West High Key Club.  We will deliver what we collect at this meeting.  Bring stuff to our hall.

·         11/22 and 11/23 - TREE LOT SET UP - Everyone come! Yvonne brings great chili.

·         12/2 Muscular Dystrophy Bail Jail

·         12/5 Arts Foundation Fundraiser at Gallery C

·         THANKSGIVING - CHRISTMAS TREE LOT OPENS -Keep time available on  your calendars to work a couple shifts per week from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

 

MISC OTHER: Rick Hankus is conducting “Project Needs” unopened toys to Java Man or Ocean Dinner.

     Adrianna will not be at the tree lot this year ergo Paul is looking for a replacement. Trees will be here on the 26th.

UPCOMING PROGRAMS:

·         Salvation Army, U. S. Air force, and Rev. Thomas Wyatt

Rick Koening and Cherie Brown presented a check for over $3200 to the Red Cross based on their collection efforts from the Happy Clam location and the HB Pier. Clothes and other stuff was also delivered to needy victims.

 Greg Wyatt presented to Sgt Tommy Thompson of the HB Police Department a check for $350 for their Police Association.

 

 

PROGRAM:  Speaker  Jimmy Weldon, a Kiwanis Ambassador at Large, and the voice of Webster the Duck gave a humorous and inspirational presentation. He talked about the power of going after you goals, not retiring but do “other things”, keep thinking and don’t be complacent as we are all unique. He received a standing ovation.

HAPPY/SADS:  (S) Paul afraid of cold wet winter; (H)  Howieee glad to be back from China and great trip; (H) Pat Love happy for Pete Tucker Victory (H) Larry being here; (H) Dallas  rekeying of Kiwanis Hall; (S) Dano delay in opening; (H) Builders Club here; (H) Dr Barr in 1935 as a forest ranger he did battle with a forest fire and glad he made it; (H) Greg W His guest and surviving Key Club trip to Magic Mountain; (H) Rick successful fire collections
