STARTERS: Prez Tony was back to run the meeting. The men's choir led God Bless America, visitor Caitlyn Lombardo led the pledge and Merle Fish was back (altho a tad late) to give the invocation.

GUESTS:  Guests today were Linda Haxton's friend and recently retired teacher Joanne Kenoff, Carla's charming 4-year-old daughter Liana, Earl's blushing new bride, Alice and the ever popular Miss Caitlyn Lombardo.

BIRTHDAYS:  Dick McCurdy (6/24) made a special effort to be here for his birthday song.  We surprised him by singing it almost nicely (well, it's all relative folks).

DRINK DISPENSER/FINK/LATE: Whit caught Merle, Chris and Jane.  Fink Dick McCurdy nailed Carol, Len, Jean, Jerry, Merle, Bob C, Chris, Linda and Jane for not shaking his hand.  Maybe we shouldn't let him come back until his next birthday.

REPORT FROM INDIANAPOLIS:

Our fearless leaders-in-waiting Rick Koenig and Greg Wyatt reported on a great time in Indianapolis and thanked the club for the opportunity to represent us a delegates.  They were awed by the size of the gathering (over 5000), with delegates from all over the world.  They claim to have voted and to have attended several Kiwanis educational seminars.  Then they showed a wonderful fun film showing the trouble they got into, invading the international president's and executive director's offices, eyeing the "big bell", sleeping in dumpsters, going to automobile museums.  All in all, they had a great time and learned a lot!!

MISC. MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS:

·         Chris Jones announced that he will be leaving as principal of Hermosa Valley Middle School after 7 years and will be working for the Wiseburn School District.  He will be principal of the Anza School (K-5) which was recently completely rebuilt.  Congrats on the new job, Chris, but we will miss you!  Don't forget to come back to visit during school breaks.

·         We received two very nice thank-you notes from scholarship recipients Melinda McArthur (who received $500) and Rebecca Hellerman (who received $1000)
