MONDO PROJECT: Cathy described the fundraising project started by Terry
Davidson to pay for a prosthetic leg for "Mondo" who works for Joe
Bertrand's demolition and hauling company.
He lost his leg in an auto accident in Mexico as a child, but
continues to be a great guy and good worker. Kiwanis provided the charitable
entity while others did the fundraising.
Sufficient funds were raised to pay for the leg, therapy, etc with
enough left over to add approximately $1400 to the Mary Murillo Sister City
Project, contribute approximately $900 to the HB Kiwanis Scholarship fund,
and give Mondo an additional $1000 to help pay for future therapy or parts for
his leg. Cathy presented that check
for Mondo to Joe Bertrand today. |
