STARTERS: The Men's Choir led the song, Builders Club led the pledge and Merle prayed.   

GUESTS:  Deborah Cramer brought her mom Beverly and step-dad Bob Loveland and nephew Joey Gonzalez.  Builders Club guests were Cambrey Vasconez, Maureen Prassas and Laura Beth David. 

WEDDING: Pablo had the honor of announcing that our esteemed fellow Kiwanian and Club Secretary, Mr. Earl Feys, got married last weekend to Alice Yang.  CONGRATULATIONS, EARL!!

                      The Answer Was "Yes"???

 

DRINK DISPENSER/FINK: Whit caught Jerry, Merle and Bruce.  Fink Howie caught Cathy, Nick, Jack, Bud and Christine.

MISC. ANNOUNCEMENTS:

·         Joe fixed the Wheel, but the "hub" is missing.  Anyone know its whereabouts?

·         Jane Harmon's Congressional Art Program was emceed by Cathy and Kiwanis got good publicity.  Art on display at Creative Arts Center in MB til May 8

MORE MISC. ANNOUNCEMENTS:

·         The last SHARE delivery to be made by our club will be April 26.  Cathy and Dick McCurdy will get the truck but they need help move boxes.  Call them if you can help.

·         MB Chamber Sand Dollar Charity Golf Tournament on May 19 at Rolling Hills Country Club - We have a women's and a men's foursome signed up.

PROGRAM: Tom Cash from the Exceptional Kids PTO was our speaker today.  He is a Special Ed teacher.  The EKPTO serves kids with special needs from age 0 to age 22.  They provide equipment, field trips and especially parties so that the young people have an opportunity to experience social interaction, dancing, dressing up and all the fun of parties.  They have 7 dances a year for ages 14-22 and their biggest party is the annual "prom".  He brought a video of last year's prom showing kids laughing, dancing, socializing, dressed up in gowns and tuxedos.  About 300/400 people attended.  These PTO activities are supported by donations from the public (including Kiwanis) in cash, donated gowns, suits, tuxedos, and any other donations.

HAPPY/SADS: Rick K happy re restaurant final inspection; Greg happy re barnstorming with Red Baron and still dating his lady friend (next wedding?); Bruce happy re "hominy for nominees" breakfast; Jack happy re wife Pat Woolley's new gallery at 345-7th St. in San Pedro; Howiee happy re Earl's nuptials and that Earl isn't running for anything; Jerry happy to return from Las Vegas without losing money; Dallas happy re Earl, happy the pregnancy isn't Earl's (it's Adriana and Bruno); Larry happy re guests and newest grandchild now crawling; Earl happy re new bride Alice; Cary happy re vacation in New York and seeing Bill & Betty Ryan at the top of the Empire State Building; Pablo happy re Earl and Alice and Saskatchkiwanian food at the wedding; Christine happy re Earl, sad re Alice; Sam happy re Deb's family here, Builder's Club here and re Earl; Dan happy re Earl, sad he missed Joe's party, happy to be back from Japan healthy (no SARs); Jean happy re Earl, guests and no SARs for Dan; Len happy re Earl; Cathy happy re Builders photo taking at the Eggstravaganza, "Manhattan People" publicity, and Harmon Arts publicity; Tony happy re guests, Builders beach cleanup this Friday, Caitlyn's hula dancing and happy to be back from Hawaii.

DON'T FORGET THAT CLUB ELECTIONS ARE TO BE HELD NEXT WEEK.  YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO VOTE!!!

RAFFLE:  Dallas had the winning ticket, but left early, so Len drew for him and didn't get the joker.  The big pot was $717 and there were 17 cards left.  FINK:  Next week is #181.
