SPEAKER:About to become new member Melissa Kohout from Beach Cities Health District spoke about Stress Management. Americans are more stressed re little things than big things. Stress contributes greatly to heart disease being #1 killer. Things that we can't fight or flee from create elevated stress hormones that raise heart rate, blood pressure, cause digestive problems and decrease immunity levels. Chronic psychological stress is the worst culprit. Solutions: Exercise!! Play!! Yoga. Meditation. Deep Breathing. Guided Imagery. Improve your time and financial management plans. Laugh!! Try to change only what you can.
