Sam's Words of Wisdom:  A clear conscience makes a soft pillow... Church marquee

FOR STARTERS:  The ladies choir sang (a capella since we were missing Doris today. Caitlyn Lombardo reprised her role as leader of the pledge and Father Earl delivered the invocation.

BIRTHDAYS: Paul Lawson (22nd) and Carla Handley (22nd) -- although they both stayed away from the meeting today.  Was it something about the way we sing?

DRINK DISPENSER:  Stand by for next week.  We were running late so stand-in bartender Howiee didn't get a chance to fine anyone and today's fink will have to remember for another whole week who didn't shake her (hint, hint) hand.

Guests:  Doug Jenkins (guest of Christine & Sam) was here for his third free lunch.  He will be "oriented" on Monday 8/26 at 8am at the Ocean Diner and barring any missteps by the membership committee will become a member soon.  Also with us today were LtG Sangeeta Vastava and Brandon Toma from Circle K, and Lombardo daughter Caitlyn. SPEAKER:  Member Jack Belasco presented a wonderful program on Venice.  Jack is the photographer and his wife Pat Woolley is the artist.  He showed a video put together by his granddaughter entitled "Sketches of Love in Venice" that exquisitely  demonstrated this family's love of Venice, the beauty of Venice and the incredible artistic talents of Jack, Pat and their friends and family.  If you missed this show, you missed a great travelogue and insight into the talents and passions of a wonderful member of our club.  Jack also brought a lot of paintings of Venice by Pat.  Pat would have been here to share the accolades, but she was supervising the repair of their garage door. Pat, we loved your paintings!!!!

LABOR DAY HOT DOGS: Be sure to sign up to work the hot dog booth - 3 shifts/3 days. We raise some money and have fun in the process. If you are able-bodied and in town, at least one shift is a must!!  If you haven't already signed up, call Tony Lombardo.

HEART WALK:  Key Club has pledged to raise $1000.  Terry has sign-up sheet if you can help.  We all know someone who has suffered from heart disease.  Surely you can support this event by walking or making a contribution.  Dianne has sign-up sheet if you can walk the distance.  This is a club and division project and all are encouraged to participate.  Call Terry or Dianne for more info.

BABY FURNITURE ALERT:  Joe says he had a call wanting a car seat for a Mexican Chihuahua.
