Sam's Words of Wisdom:  Hard Work spotlights the character of people: some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some don’t show up at all.

STARTERS:  Joint Men’s Women’s chorus.  Bob C led the pledge & Earl did the invocation.

BIRTHDAYS: None.

DRINK DISPENSER: Whit found Jerry as usual

Fink: In lieu of Anna, Cathy gave $5 for all.

Guests: Steve Delk was introduced by Judy G and Cherlotte and Kathy by Greg W. J.R. Reviesky came later for the program.

Correspondence:  Thank you from Mike and Cathy Schubach. Flag funded by LAX Kiwanis and us too, flying at the LAX control tower.

Discussion: Tony L discussed continuation of Project SHARE. There was enough interest to continue our participation

Results of Board Meeting:

·         2 new honorary members: Dave Hegner and Craig Casner

·         Draft of Responsibilities of a HB Kiwanian distributed

·         $210 to beach cities Symp, $500 to chevron camp, $445 for Hover Craft, $2K for Digital Divas

·         Fiesta Hot Dog Booth to be re-evaluated

Announcements:

·        Thanks from HB kids who went to NYC to display flag in NYFD Museum. We contributed $600 to offset some transportation costs.

·        Rick K found a hearing aid

·        Taylor Lombardo is president of HBV Builders Club

·        Sept. 27 11:30 lunch HB School Re Measure J,       Coordinating Council

There was no formal program today. Just a series of personal reflections regarding 9-11
