·        Elections will be held on March 19th for the following:

·        DCM meeting last week was good at our Kiwanis Hall was sponsored by Redondo Beach. Good meeting.  Pat Love won a HUGE bottle of tequila and a $50 gift certificate.

·        Announcement – Jane Walker made it to a meeting today!  Yippy!

Upcoming Kiwanis and Community Events -

·        Sand & Strand Run/Walk this Sunday  March 24th  at Pier Plaza

·        Photos by Streetman – opening at Java Man this Sunday March 24th from             3 – 5 pm.  Wine and cheese will be served.  Please stop by and see Howie’s pics.

·        Adrienne’s Search for a Cure – March 8th at the Kiwanis Hall. Tickets are $35. Lots of good food, music and activities for kids. Adrienne is looking for silent auction items. If you can donate or know of someone who can… please contact her.  310.940.9200 Let’s support Adrienne and this great cause!

·        Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Saturday March 15th.  Mickey McRae will be coordinating this. Stay tuned for more details from Mickey.

·        Kiwanis Metro Regional Conference – March 15th @ the Hawthorne Memorial Center from 12:00 noon to 3 pm.

·        St. Patrick’s Day 5k run/walk and Little Leprechaun Dash for gold. March 16th. Contact  Lily Gonzalez 310.803.0663

Happy/Sad Dollars

Rick K = Happy that is mom is out of the hospital recovering from pneumonia.

Paul = Sad – that he will be in Palm Dessert for 19 days.  Happy that he is here today!

Adrienne = Happy that Paul was honored last week for his 25 years of service with Kiwanis. (BTW… the plural form for moose is “moose” according to Webster’s Dictionary)  ß you had to be there for this one!

 

Jeff = Happy that he is going to Cuba on Friday then on to Cabo. 

Cathy = Sad that Anna Belchee is not doing very well.   Happy that Rick will fix her broken window soon. Happy that Anna at least is not driving!

Pat = Happy that she won a BIG bottle of Tequila at the DCM last week

Greg = Happy that for Joni’s birthday.  And BTW… “mousse” is what you get at a hair salon. 

Amy = Happy that she just got back from a ski trip; Happy that she is going on another one to Steamboat Co; Happy to be running in the LA marathon

Hilda = Happy to be back at Kiwanis

 

 

Howie = Sad that he is still having trouble with the “email blast” feature in the Kiwanis distribution list; Happy that he thinks it may be resolved; Happy for his art show this weekend at Java Man.

Dallas = (in honor of Whit) Just Happy!

Bob = Happy that his daughter Katie is here today and that she is now employed fulltime.  Happy that the birthday song the group sang was THE WORST one we ever did.  

Carol = Happy that Key is feeling better… in fact so much better he is going to Whistler to ski next week with the boys.

Mike = Sad to hear about Anna and Happy that everyone was here today and is doing great.
