Correspondence / Special Announcements:

o       Update on Dallas and Dorothy – they both ended up in the hospital with pneumonia; Dorothy is home; Dallas also has a mild heart attack; he has been move to the transition facility at Little Company of Mary.

o        NOTICE TO AMEND THE BY-LAWS. A vote will take place at the regular meeting on Wednesday January 30.2008.

Article VII:  Board of Directors

   Section 1: The Board of Directors shall consist of the officers         

     and nine (9) elected directors.

Note: By Laws currently allow for seven (7) elected directors

 

Upcoming Kiwanis Events: 

o       (use Mike’s verbiage here)

o       Regarding Tree Lot… please don’t share with other just how much Kiwanis makes each year on the Tree Lot. Folks don’t understand that there are many costs associated with running a Tree Lot PLUS Paul and Yvonne don’t want to be robbed!

  Mums the word – OK?

o       Super Bowl party may on may not happen Feb. 3rd             (not the 4th)

 

 

 

o        Time Capsule event on Sunday at 11 am to 12:00 noon. Location: Kiwanis Clock on Pier Plaza.  Please RSVP with Donna Hunter dhunter@hermosabch.org so there is enough seating. Also, if you register you will get reserved parking in Lot B (Behind Gallery C).

o       Drink Dispenser – Adrienne, Greg, Dick, Jason

o       Fink – Deb Wright DeMaderios.  Adrienne, Greg, Dick, Jason and Paul.

o       Raffle winner: Bob $248 in the pot and he drew the Joker.  Good for Bob!!!

H: Whit just happy

H: Rick K. – not sick any more

H: Earl – Alice IS coming home (eventually).

H: Jason – that Amanda is working at a Preschool now in Redondo Beach

H:  Joe – that Marie is feeling better, but slowed down a bit (FLASH –MARIA IS NOW IN THE HOSPITAL)

H; Nick – the baby is due any day now; tree lot financials; passed this really important exam

for certification in financial planning. Congrats Nick!

H:  Joni - that the time capsule project is finally over

H:  Howiee – he slipped a dollar into the time capsule.  Taking the trip he won at The Taste of the Beach to Puerto Vallarta next week

H; Joanne – because she just got back from ANOTHER trip to Tanzania, New Zealand and Australia. She got to pet a wombat and a Blue Heeler dog.

H: Carol – saw the Grandkids over the holidays. She got to pet a guinea pig!

H: Pat – that Chris her hubby was gone for a while and happy he is coming home on Saturday.

H: Mike Miller – happy he is feeling better too; 1st meeting of the year

H: Adrienne – happy that her fundraiser is going to happen:

Saturday, Feb. 23rd at the Kiwanis Hall

$50 – proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House in LA

Live music by the Rogues; Food from Cantina Real

Silent Auction; Very family oriented event – so bring          the kids! ---More information to come later….
