UPCOMING PROGRAMS:

It’s a surprise!

Speaker and his gear:         Happy Birthday, Whit!!!

PROGRAM: Our speaker was Peter Ready, accompanied by his wife Sharon. They have a company called Steam Machines that makes re-breathing equipment for deep sea divers.  This equipment combines oxygen with another diluting gas and cleans the carbon monoxide and allows divers to go deeper and stay longer under water. It also does not make bubbles. It is used by recreational divers/photographers, by the military for covert diving needs, by naturalists for observing and photographing sea life, by archeologists (treasure hunters) and by fish collectors.  The area between 200 feet and 500 feet down has been little explored because of the limitations of other breathing devices.  Because it doesn’t make bubbles, it doesn’t scare away wildlife in the same way scuba equipment does.  They are located at 620 Cypress in Hermosa and have a website at steammachines.com. To purchase a device and get trained costs about $10,000, but you can rent them for about $500 a week.
