DRINK DISPENSER/FINK/OTHER FINES: Whit caught Greg R. and Maria and tried to fine Greg for not having the speakers shake his hand. No fink today. Speaker Lyla: Maria finally gets her badge:

Gardena will be the 2005-6 Lt. Governor for Div. 19. He will follow Kathy Tipton from Lomita in
2004-5. · Tony Molina is getting married today (unless he's in trial). |
TOTAL K: Saturday - March 20. Set up at the Hall begins at 7 a.m. -
Breakfast (provided by Rick Hankus) at about 8:00. We will then join with youth group members to do
greenbelt/highway clean-up and do some maintenance chores around the
Hall. Builders Clubbers will also be
planting flowers at the Salvation Army in Redondo. (Bring small planting
tools & gloves if you can.) Please come get to know the kids and
participate in this fun event. Bruce

PROGRAM: Lyla Knudson, Development Director at the Wellness Community, accompanied by Linda Wagner, was our speaker. They provide a free program of education, support and hope for people with cancer and their loved ones. They encourage participants to become active patients to improve the quality of their lives and enhance the possibility of recovery. An estimated 37,000 people will get cancer in 2004 in LA County. The Wellness Community provides education, workshops, support groups, exercise classes, social events and other support. They are funded by grants, corporate and individual donations. All services provided are free. Last year they had about 16,000 visits to their center. Bruce happy re upcoming Total K Day; Terry happy for Joel, sad he has "no clue" what its like to live with a teenager, happy re great camping trip with her family; Paul A. happy for Cathy, sad re death of Charlie Niles, Jazz announcer on jazz radio station; Paul B happy re "oldest member" Joe completing a race in Mexico; Joe happy he won that race but sad the possums beat him to his strawberry patch; Bob happy his possum found a good home; Greg happy re 2 weeks passed since his dad's surgery and he's doing great; Rick happy re retiring from construction after 33 years - he's be doing mold sampling and testing now - also happy to see Joel and Maria here today and happy for great Saint Patrick's Day! |
